The Art of Silversmithing: An interactive demonstration for transforming a simple piece of silver into a work of art - Native American style! Shane McPhearson, a local silversmith, goldsmith and owner of a popular Indian Jewelry retail store takes you through the process of creating a piece of southwestern style jewelry from start to finish, using the same techniques the Native American culture has used for years. A selection of jewelry will be brought to the demonstration and will be available to purchase.

Bahti Indian Arts: Mark Bahti has owned and operated Bahti Indian Arts since 1972. Mark has authored three books on Southwestern Indian tribes, their arts and religions, which are considered standard reading in this area. Mark will give your guests a presentation on Native American and Southwestern Art. Along with Mr. Bahti will be two demonstrators – a Basket Weaver and a Hopi Kachina Doll Carver to inform and entertain your guests.

Terry DeWald: Native American art dealer, author, appraiser and lecturer, will take you on a fascinating spiritual journey through time. Since Terry supplies museum shops, national parks and galleries nationwide as a wholesaler, it is convenient for him to pull paramount examples from his vast inventory of rugs, baskets, and pottery – both contemporary and historic – for a “hands-on” personal presentation of the art.

Madaras Gallery - Diana Madaras: She is represented by four galleries in the United States and one in the Bahamas. She has been featured in seven one-woman shows and her art has hung in the Tucson Museum of Art. Diana Madaras’ speech is both inspirational and informational. She recounts the unusual story of how she discovered her passion for art at age 37 and how she turned that passion into a viable career. Diana also gives an overview of watercolor painting – illustrates the difference between oil painting and watercolor, and shows paintings in various stages of completion to help illustrate the process.

Dr. Carrol McLaughlin - “All of Life’s a Stage”: Dr. McLaughlin became the head of the harp department at the University of Arizona in 1982, and in 1994 was the recipient of the UA Five Star Faculty Teaching Award for Excellence. Her inspirational/motivational speaking, combines her speaking with harp music, fully engaging the audience. This presentation is the perfect entertainment, with an added educational, and personal development perk for any occasion. All presentation topics are customized to meet your group’s expectations.
